Is one of the most difunded celebrations in Yucatan. It's origin follows the colonial time and it was celebrated originally when the cattle was going to be marked.
In Merida you can watch a Vaqueria every Sunday, with regional dancers, music and the typical "Bombas". The Mestizas wearing their beautiful "Hipiles" and the Mestizos their white "Guayaberas".
The most popular dances for the vaqueria are listed here:
- Tunculuchu-hu
- Pichito Amoroso
- Danza de la cabeza del cochino
- La danza de las cinta
- La angaripola
You still can see them every Sunday, as for many different crafts and food around the main square. It's a show worth to enjoy on your vacations in Merida, the White City.
